IN 2012 WE UNABASHEDLY ENDORSE BARACK OBAMA AS PRESIDENT OF THE USA! ! !

Without Reservation, Orleans' Said It Right,
President Barack Obama Absolutely Is
STILL THE  ONE!

We originally endorsed Barack Obama to a second term as U.S. President one year ago, and now we only have more reasons to enthusiastically support Barack's re-election with vigor, enthusiasm and excitement! Despite the absurd turn to the right of the opposition Republican party, largely in response to the popularity of a radio disk jockey named Rush Limbaugh, and their inane publicly stated goal (Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said that his prime goal was not to advance any particular policy as the leader of the Senate Republicans, but to squash any re-election by the incumbent, all the way back in 2009--and the most incompetent House Speaker of all time, John Boehner, has been led by McConnell in this attempt), our President has led the nation since our endorsement to an end of the Iraq war, an end to the life of Bin Laden and of Muammar Qaddafi, continuing economic growth following the Republicans' "Great Recession" which was handed to Mr. Obama in January 2009, and even more. He has restored class and civility to the White House, I am proud to wake up in the morning knowing that Barack and Michelle represent our nation and he's been such a marvelous Head of State that the Nobel Prize committee recognized that by awarding him their extraordinarily coveted Peace Prize in 2009! I like that in an American Commander-in-Chief, and nobody was speaking in such glowing terms of the last Republican to hold the office!

Mr. Obama was uncontested in his bid for my Party's nomination for President this year because he has performed in a manner which is totally in keeping with the best values of the Democratic Party. What he's been able to accomplish in his short term of office, despite the Tea Bagging idiocy of the opposition, led by the likes of Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, is truly historic in every sense! One thing is for certain, that 200 years from now Barack Obama will be one of those Presidents that American kids know by name and are taught about in civics classes, and I'm proud to be a part of that history by helping to elect and now to re-elect him to the highest office in the land. Elsewhere I will publish a summary of the reasons why the Republican's choice to oppose Barack is worse than a straw man, and not worthy of bothering to drive or take a bus to the polling place in order to cast a ballot. Mittens Romney, by comparison to our amazing incumbent President Barack Obama is comparable to a home run contest between Babe Ruth and me, or a boxing match between Muhammad Ali, Joltin' Joe Frazier or George Foreman and your Unabashed correspondent. No contest at all. Romney is out of his league, as is the Republican Party altogether, because we happen to have at the helm of our Party and of the nation the most eminently qualified leader of my lifetime.  And we also happen to be blessed with an embarrassment of riches right now, in that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, NY Governor Andrew Cuomo, Florida US Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, among others are VERY impressive Presidential candidates for 2016 and beyond!

So I am incredibly proud to endorse Barack for his second term; and grateful to him, to our wonderful First Lady Michelle Obama and to their beautiful young daughters for making the sacrifices necessary to run and serve not one, but two terms in the fish bowl that is the White House. We did it in 2008 despite all odds, and there is no doubt that in 2012 that YES WE CAN, AND YES WE WILL RE-ELECT PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA TO HIS SECOND FULL TERM OF OFFICE! THANK YOU, SIR, FOR ALL YOU'VE DONE AND WILL DO FOR ME AND FOR THE WORLD!

Unabashed Left unreservedly endorses President Barack Obama for a second term as leader of the nation. His accomplishments and that of his awesome administration, particularly Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Vice President Joe Biden have been amazing, especially given the fact that they’ve only been in office for 29 months!

Right out of the starting gate the President navigated a $700 plus spending and tax-cut bill through Congress. The TARP measure has eliminated the Bush monthly unemployment increases and is bringing an end to the Republican Administration’s “Great Recession” in a steady and responsible manner. It is also providing education funding, provided for interstate competition for higher quality education nation-wide, provided for the handicapped, the less advantaged, the poor and for middle-class and small business investment incentives. And he got it through Congress, despite much opposition from some elements of his own party!

Right out of the starting gate he repaired U.S. relations with the rest of the world, in conjunction with the best Secretary of State in my memory, Mrs. Hillary Rodham-Clinton so well that he was awarded the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize in his first year of this Presidency, joining the likes of Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, and organizations such as Doctors Without Borders! ‘Freedom Fries’ are once again called French Fries in the White House and the silly game-playing with our own closest allies and the remainder of the community of nations is over!

Right out of the starting gate he carried through with his promise to draw down in Iraq, and 100,000 troops are out, the combat mission IS over, and we will essentially be out of that illegal war, started with lies by the oil rich Cheney/Bush/Halliburton crowd, as cleanly as humanly possible by December 31 this year. And in Afghanistan, General McChrystal is out, Petraeus demoted, and the State Dept. has won the turf war that the Defense Department had well in hand under the Republicans. With Secretary Clinton’s approbation, and that of Barack, Ambassador Richard Holbrooke has enabled the situation to evolve in such a manner that PEACE TALKS are ongoing between the corrupt Hamid Karzai Administration installed by the previous Republican regime in Washington, opposition forces including those we formerly referred to as the Mujahedeen when the foreign aggressor was the Soviet Union[not the U.S., as at present], moderate elements of the Taliban—specifically NOT sick women-stoners like Mullah Omar and his twisted cronies--, the Huquanni Network within Pakistan--which is actually the crew protecting Osama Bin Laden and his small circle ensconced in the mountains along the Afghan/Pakistan border--and the Pakistani government. A Peace AGREEMENT in Afghanistan is a genuine hope for the Afghan people under the leadership of President Barack Obama as he navigates a situation which the previous administration created. He inherited the post 9/11(let’s not forget that the worst attack on the U.S. mainland occurred under the watch of the Republican Bush) world, including the Afghan war which was a stalemate after 7 long years. He inherited a Pakistan which Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice allowed to develop and deploy a nuclear arsenal, under a twisted ally called General Musharraf, and with a centuries old grudge and consistent warfare with its next-door nuclear neighbor India. OMG. Barack is handling this in an amazingly competent manner, indeed.

Right out of the starting gate, Barack reviewed U.S. nuclear strategy, and for the first time since the commencement of the Manhattan project during World War II, the official goal of the U.S. government is global nuclear disarmament, including our own nuclear disarmament. He successfully negotiated the START treaty with President Medvedev of Russia, had a successful summit right away, and then navigated it successfully through the Senate during the anything but lame lame-duck session of Congress last year. He knew that even certain Republicans knew that the new Republican numbers in the upcoming Senate would not vote for ratification, and got it done before the new Congress. This was pretty astute politicking on an issue of grave national security importance. In that same non-lame lame-duck session, he enhanced national security AND gave civil rights its biggest shot in the arm in decades by repealing the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy of organized anti-gay discrimination among the uniformed military services. Thank you President Obama!

Written n 1954 as a response to a U.S. Supreme Court Ruling, Three Dog Night made "Black and White" a pop delight in the 1970s.

Given the political climate, Barack’s perseverance and ‘never-say-die’ attitude about Health Care Reform resulted in the biggest change in not only health care provision, but also in domestic policy since Medicare was passed. Government option was not an option ever, given the party of “Hell-no’s” attitude of styming anything this President does or proposes, and the opposition of conservative Democrats. He got out of that Congress more than anyone could have possibly imagined! Congratulations on that one President Obama. And Vice President Biden: We agree, “This IS a big f@#*ing deal, Mr. President!”

With a political climate that the opposition has created, which honestly has more to do with the President’s skin color than with his policies, this President has done amazing things. Both he and Eric Holder in particular deserve praise for their sacrifices as people of color with families who are targeted by opponents and characterized as motivated by their pigmentation. Sickening. Thank you for your service Attorney General Holder, President Obama and to your wonderful families.

Let’s not forget that Attorney General Holder “held” Tony “Wayward” Hayward liable, and set up shop right next door to his headquarters in New Orleans during the BP spill with a big ol’ Justice Department logo right next door for the suits and ties to see as they came and went from their corporate headquarters. Let’s not forget that $20billion is already in hand for the damages done by BP! And let’s not forget that “Wayward” is now forced to reside in Putin’s Russia in order to escape the long arm of the Justice Department under Eric Holder and certain extradition if he returns to his native United Kingdom as a resident. Thank you Eric! And please keep in mind the absurd accusations made by the libelous Rupert Murdoch product, Fox News, that Eric Holder’s Justice Department dropped criminal charges against a few punks calling themselves “New Black Panthers” when in fact the charges were dropped before Barack Obama was even sworn into office by the preceding administration. Mr. Holder’s is anything but a skin-color conscious Justice Department, in fact is the most color-blind department in my memory.

And right out of the starting gate we have two brand new Democratic women on the U.S. Supreme Court. I agree Mr. President, being smart is not a disqualification for the bench. In fact I think you may be right, it might just be a good measuring stick, in fact. Thank you Mr. President!

And for what it’s worth, we have a White House with class again. It is nice having literate White House, with a library being utilized for its intended purpose. I like having a President who knows how to spell and pronounce ‘nuclear,’ and who invites Paul McCartney over to rock the House! And thank God for a President who has kicked the nicotine habit. And thanks to you Michelle Obama for helping him with this process and for your public education and advocacy for the public health, especially childhood obesity! What an awesome first lady! Please consider a run for office after Barack’s second term, Mrs. Obama! Please? And those kids, we’re letting them grow up fairly shielded, but we’re getting enough of a glimpse to see how beautiful they are and are growing, and how evident their awesome parenting is within the White House residential quarters. What a beautiful family to represent the nation.

Is Barack perfect? NO! Is he the best possible candidate for 2012? ABSOLUTELY!!!

I would like to address you personally for a moment Mr. President. If I could have your ear this is what I’d say. First, please continue with your agenda, and do not be distracted by labels such as ‘socialist,’ or birthers, or those who say you’re not a Christian, etc. The Party of Hell No is self-destructing. They are in their final post-Nixon death throes, I do believe. We will come out the other side the better, and with a new loyal opposition instead of the disloyal lot they’ve been since the crooks took over their party in 1968.

Second, continue to beware of the uniformed brass--the Joint Chiefs, Admiral Mullens, and especially General Petraeus. Do NOT trust them for one second, sir. Please. Trust the State Department over Defense whenever in doubt, sir, is advice you seem to be recognizing as legitimate at this point. Diplomacy will work in almost every case, sir. And please add some women to the leadership of the Defense Department in large numbers, both uniformed and civilian. This will help civil rights and national security in a big way.

And third sir, trial balloons have been floated of Hillary taking the Vice Presidential nomination in 2012, and Mr. Biden perhaps shifting to the State Department. A Clinton Vice Presidency, and a possible Hillary Rodham-Clinton Presidency in 2016 is just what the doctor ordered. With former President Clinton, Hillary, yourself and Michelle on the campaign trail the Democratic victory next year will be of landslide proportions both at the Electoral College level, and within Congress as well at all levels! And as Vice President, Hillary could accomplish much (not to disparage Mr. Biden’s awesome work) and be well situated to secure the Presidency for the 8 years following your own historic work as President, sir.

We did it in 2008. YES WE DID. We’ve done it since January 20th, 2009, sir. We stand ready for 2012.

                                    BARACK OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT

YES WE COULD!

YES WE DID!

YES WE CAN!

YES WE WILL AGAIN

IN 2012!!!
So, re-elect President Obama in 2012. The short list of Obama achievements:

1) Ending the reign of terror that was Osama Bin Laden.

2) Ending Don't Ask Don't Tell- The official Defense Department policy of legal discrimination against gay and lesbian heroes.

3) Negotiating and passing through the U.S. Senate the START treaty with Russia.

4) Passage of the highly successful $700billion TARP bill.

5) Passage of the first-step Health Care Reform Act of 2010.

6) Removing 100,000 of our bravest and best from harm's way in Iraq.

7) Getting a $20 billion down payment from BP before the spill was even over.

8) Intimidating Tony "Wayward" Hayward into resigning as the immoral head of BP, taking a demotion and hiding out in Putin's Russia to avert prosecution by Attorney General Eric Holder.

9) Naming 2 women in a row to the U.S. Supreme court with brains.

10) Having a brain himself as President, post-George Dubya Bush. Refreshing-huh?

You forgot to add that Obama broke his promise to close Guantanamo, provided billions for a bailout of Wall Street, would not allow any debate on Single Payer despite expressing earlier support for it, kept his promise by expanding the war in Afghanistan and to unilaterally expand the war in Pakistan, has broken his promise to provide greater government transparency than Bush, has given his approval for the assassination of Americans without judicial process, has prosecuted whistleblowers after expressing support for them, and has allowed himself to be humiliated repeatedly by the Mussolini clone of prime minister of Israel without landing a single blow and by so doing has made himself the laughing stock in capitals around the world sending the message that our president has not only no bark but not even the trace of a bite.

Of course the reason for that is his awareness that the US Congress is totally in thrall to Israel as last weeks Nuremberg circa 1927 rally for Netanyahu in Congress demonstrated. It was probably the greatest collective act of treason in US history since the civil war when the elected representative of the American people took the side of the head of a foreign power. If Washington, who warned against a "passionate attachment" to a foreign government were to reappear he would have them all in irons where they belong. Maybe Obama is more to be pitied than pilloried but with the support of the likes of you, Steverino, he's got nothing to worry about.

@Jeff: As with righties in general who prowl my pages imitating Democrats and liberals, you got personal in your attack even though you've never seen me nor met me, and know nothing about me. I strongly object to being referred to as "the likes of you, Steverino" and that is a clear indication of the weakness of your arguments on the right. You guys pretend to be humanitarians, yet attack in personal manners such as these because your arguments lack factual, logical and ethical bases. Idealism is not realism. Wall Street is an uneccessary evil at present and Barack understands that your argument is fallacious. Had nothing been done a depression would have been the consequence. In Afghanistan NEGOTIATIONS between all the parties involved are happening, and the only non-signatory to the peace treaty will be the U.S. because the opportunistic Republicans in the U.S. Senate under the traitorous Minority Leader Mitch McConnell will not vote for peace. Additionally McChrystal's resignation was demanded and received, Petraeus demoted then sent to the civilian sector and his political base within the uniformed brass now irrelevant and his fantasies of a civilian political career gone, Admiral Mullens and Robert Gates have also been shown the gate. The post-Cheney Administration mop-up is taking some time, but that's understandable. We have NO uniformed combat troops in Pakistan stationed there and Barack Obama did there in less than 2 years what Cheney couldn't do in 8 years, get Osama Bin Laden! I personally have been at 4 online chats at the White House and had more than a half dozen questions answered by people ranging from the Chairman of The Council of Economic Advisers, the NOAA Administrator Dr. Jane Lubchenko, and David Axelrod. NEVER in U.S. history has there been such transparency. Bush was as transparent as a lead apron. He still is for that matter. Name the American assassination targets of Obama please, don't just throw out lies. Barack's awesome Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has compelled Netanyahu to sit with Mahmoud Abbas and also to pay for his attack on a Turkish aid ship and because of their policies Netanyahu will lose the next Israeli election hands-down. Rather than a laughing stock (we all know what the rest of the world's capitols thought when Bush called them Freedom Fries because he didn't like NATO ally France) Barack Obama has already earned the accolades of the world with the Nobel Peace Prize, just for example. I'm sorry, but the grammar, syntax and vocabulary utilized in your second paragraph are not recognizable and not understandable. I know no word in our language "thrall" for example, "when the elected representative of the American people took the side of a foreign power" makes no grammatical sense whatsoever. Treason I understand, but Congress has historically welomed Prime Ministers, Kings, Queens and Presidents even if we disagree with them. I'm very happy about that history and the fact that Netanyahu, whose policies I deplore, has a venue to speak in the Well of the U.S. House of Representatives and the day that that is no longer the case is a day I would certainly rue. If you attack personally again you will be banned from my pages. Have a great day. :)

Anonymous: Not too surprising that a cowardly comment such as this would be anonymous. I won't dignify this with a substantive reply since you, yellow belly, didn't make a substantive comment. Don't get personal again is my advice, or I'll look into your IP addy. ;o) Steve

@Anonymous; the one thing I will say substantively is that your racism is sticking out like a plague. Just like every tea bagger I've ever known.
